Nero d'Avola

Sicilia DOC

Tradition, historicity. An excellent interpretation of the red berried variety prince of Sicily, with a typically Mediterranean character. The result of a precision work, oriented towards the search for the best expression of the vine, through careful and proximity viticulture, aimed at maximizing the oenological potential of the vineyards. After the manual harvest, necessary to safeguard the integrity of the berries, and the subsequent fermentation at a controlled temperature, the wine is first aged in steel (4 months), then in French oak barriques for 8/10 months, with a further 6 in the bottle lying down. Nero d'Avola from the "La Selezione" line tells the story of the Sicily of wine, through its unmistakable hints of wild berries and morello cherry, mixed with spicy notes. The full sip, of good intensity and length, and the soft and enveloping body, make it a wine of absolute finesse.

Intense ruby red with violet reflections

Large and elegant bouquet. Mineral and forest fruit notes are perceived, integrated with delicate hints of morello cherry.

Delicate, with soft and well-balanced tannins. The aftertaste is fruity, harmonious and persistent.

Refines for 4 months in steel and 8-10 months in French oak barriques, in bottle lying down for at least 6 months

Service temperature

It goes well with main courses based on red meat and game. Also good with stewed fish and seasoned cheeses.

Sicilia DOC

Black earth up to 400 meters a.s.l.

This type of soil is found on the gentle hills of the Trapani hinterland, rich in silty-clayey substances, compact and resistant to drought. Thanks to its characteristics, it is configured as an ideal habitat for the breeding of numerous varieties of both red and white berried vines and becomes for us the perfect soil for the cultivation of Syrah and Nero d'Avola, used not only in purity , also in a blend for the Orestiadi Ludovico, a wine dedicated to Ludovico Corrao and the flagship of the cellar.
