From the meeting between Tenute Orestiadi and theBrera Academy of Fine Arts the desire to express on the label what is breathed in every day takes shape barriques, in which wine finds its most harmonious form and art overturns emotions, touching the most intimate strings of the human soul.
Opificio Gibellina wants to represent, thanks to the contribution of 5 artists - Stefano Pizzi, Gaetano Grillo, Nicola Salvatore, Pietro Coletta, Enzo Esposito - the essence not only of Tenute Orestiadi, but of the city itself, which since its new foundation has had a fundamental fulcrum in art, which daily supports agricultural production aimed at enhancing the peculiarities of the territory.
A Red wine whose grapes are grown right in the Belìce Valley, near the Grande Cretto di Alberto Burri – Vecchia Gibellina, carefully selected and hand-picked.
Stefano Pizzi (Pavia 1955) studied at the Art High School and at the Brera Academy of Fine Arts where he was the Chair of Painting, Head of External and International Relations and Communication, Deputy Director and Member of the Board of Directors.
Animator of cultural issues and social interventions, he still leads a constant today exhibition activity through personal exhibitions and national and international exhibitions to which he is invited from time to time. The itinerary of his research has always tended to develop a comparison between painting and its support which technically expresses itself in the dialogue between the iconography painted and that of the materials on which it operates. This dialectic between subject and context, meaning and signifier, has distinguished him within the art system towards which he has always taken a critical if not antagonistic position.
The early choice of academic teaching proved to be a further stimulus to participation in the contemporary artistic debate with constant presence at conferences, seminars and workshops. Research author, he is also known by the general public for his spectacular urban installations created during the 80s and 90s. In addition to painting he dedicated himself to graphics of art and ceramics.
His works are present in numerous public and private collections in Italy and abroad and on several cruise ships of the Costa fleet. It is present in numerous publications of exhibitions and reviews as it appears in various encyclopedic editions. He has published articles and held conferences in relation to artistic debate visual and curated exhibition presentations. Lives and works in Milan.
