Nero d'Avola

Sicilia DOC

A red made from 100% Nero d'Avola grapes, grown on the black lands near the Vecchia Gibellina, at an altitude between 100 and 300 meters above sea level. The wine is aged first in steel and then in wood, a necessary step to make the right aromatic bouquet that is broad and mineral, with notes of wild berries and cherry. Nero d'Avola from the “I Contemporanei” line is a harmonious red with a good structure, which combines power and softness on the palate, showing off a strong and elegant personality at the same time.



Intense ruby red with violet reflections


The olfactory bouquet is broad and elegant, with pleasant fruity notes ranging from licorice to wild berries.


Balanced, full bodied. The finish is long, the aftertaste harmonious and persistent, the tannins soft and gentle.


Aging in steel, it completes the maturation process in wood for 2-4 months before being bottled.

Service temperature



It goes well with Sicilian baked anelletti and second courses based on red meat and game (pork sausage with gravy). Also perfect in combination with stewed fish and fresh stretched curd cheeses.

This type of soil is found on the gentle hills of the Trapani hinterland, rich in silty-clayey substances, compact and resistant to drought. Thanks to its characteristics, it is configured as an ideal habitat for the breeding of numerous varieties of both red and white berried vines and becomes for us the perfect soil for the cultivation of Syrah and Nero d'Avola, used not only in purity , also in a blend for the Orestiadi Ludovico, a wine dedicated to Ludovico Corrao and the flagship of the cellar.
