The wine of seven Mediterranean countries unites peoples and cultures Gibellina on the occasion of Scirocco Wine Fest, the event promoted by Cantine Ermes - Tenute Orestiadi group, one of the most representative realities among Sicilian wine companies in collaboration with the Palermo communication agency Feedback. Wine tastings and Mediterranean gastronomic specialties, master classes, cooking challenges, cooking shows, but also shows and cultural meetings will enliven the town from Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th June. The art and culture of wine are the underlying theme for an exhibition, in its third edition, which touches the Mediterranean soul alongside the gastronomic tradition of an area deeply affected by the 1968 earthquake and a symbol of rebirth. The symbol of the initiative is lo Scirocco, the wind that represents the Mare Nostrum as a red thread that "unites" the peoples who live it and permeates the cultures that are touched by it.

“The project was born three years ago - he explained Rosario Di Maria, president of the Cantine Ermes group – Orestiadi Estates  - with the desire to continue on the path of culture and dialogue already traced by Ludovico Corrao, but from a new perspective, absolutely consistent with the corporate identity, made up of the link with our land and, obviously, wine. So we came up with the idea of creating a festival focused on wine, seen as a common thread between the Mediterranean countries, also united by the Scirocco, with the final objective of maintaining Gibellina as a cultural center at an international level and of valorising a product of incredible aggregating power: wine”. Every evening the wines of seven countries guests of the event will be tasted - France,Greece, Italy, Malta, Spain, Tunisia and Türkiye  in combination with many Mediterranean specialities edited by Sanlorenzo Mercato. From Friday to Sunday the wine tastings, organized by Cronache di gusto, will allow you to discover the fascinating and complex world of wine, while the cooking shows will feature great Sicilian chefs such as Vincenzo Candiano, two Michelin stars, of the La Locanda di Don Serafino restaurant in Ragusa Ibla e Christmas Council, regular guest on the show "La Prova del cuoco". Appointments will be conducted by Federico Quaranta, face of Rai1.

“Gibellina, a place of art and culture – he said Salvatore Suteramayor of Gibellina - it is the right setting to host an exhibition like this which aims to be an opportunity to discover this wonderful area".

On the occasion of the festival it will be possible, in fact, to learn more about the artistic and cultural heritage of the town: doors open every day at the Orestiadi Foundation, at the Museum of Mediterranean Weaves where the exhibitions of Rachid Koraichi and of Dan Iroaie and the installation Souvenir byFrancesco Impellizzeri, the Tenute Orestiadi winery and its Barriques museum.

There will also be space for two great events with Mediterranean writers and poets: on Friday 28 June the presentation of the book by Maria Attanasio “The girl from Marseille” (Sellerio) with Happy Cavallaro and on Saturday 29th the meeting with Francesca M. Corrao And Aldo Gerbino who will present the book “In Guerra non mi cercate” (Le Monnier) edited by Oriana Capezio, Elena Chiti, Francesca M. Corrao, Simone Sibilio.

Will a journey of original shows, dedicated to the cultures of the Mediterranean, animate? the evenings of the event. It begins Thursday 27 June with “In vino veritas”: seven stories, seven wines, seven countries to tell the story of the Mediterranean, a tasting-show with the participation of Marcello Mordino, readings of Silvia Ajelli and music performed live by Chris ObehiDario Sulis and Francesco Cusumano; at the end of the show Roberto Lipari. Friday? 28 protagonists are the sounds of the Mare Nostrum interpreted by three singer-songwriters: Eugenio Bennato, Mario Incudine and Alessio Bondi?.
